Operators Unlimited is committed to the success of our customers. We now offer Wastewater Compliance Solutions to assist our customers with vital compliance tasks including completing SMR/DMR/DFR, permitting and creating compliance action plans.
Completing SMR/DMR/DFR
Operators Unlimited generates complete reports and submits for the appropriate customer signature. Additionally, OU works with our customers to coordinate and schedule sampling as required by the facility’s permit(s). OU also reviews lab reports for violations or potential violations. Responses to violations or potential violations are customized based on the customer and the nature of the violation.
Review lab reports and respond as needed, responses can include:
- Coordinating additional sampling work with labs to expedite results.
- Generating additional reporting as required.
- Creating action plans to mitigate future violations.
Coordinate monthly, quarterly, semiannual and annual required permit sampling:
- Maintain a sampling schedule to ensure permit requirements are met.
- Notify customers and OU team of sample dates.
Permitting Services
OU’s specialists understand the permitting process and have a thorough understanding of our customers’ permits. We serve as a resource for all permitting questions, and offer a variety of permit services including:
- Assistance with permit acquisition and permit renewal.
- Assist with permit modifications as needed.
- Ensuring reporting compliance is met.
- Act as liaison and facilitate communication between customers and POTW.
- Assist with noncompliance issues as needed.

Mitigate Noncompliance Issues
OU specialists, including compliance, engineering and technical resources create Compliance Action Plans (CAPs) for our customers and manage existing enforcement actions, as well as mitigate/eliminate future violations. These responsibilities include:
- Creating and tailoring CAPs to customer’s specific permit needs.
- Regular communication between the customer, POTW and regulatory bodies.
- Coordinating activities to maintain compliance with existing compliance orders.
ALAN JOHNSON – Safety and Compliance Manager
Alan Johnson, the Safety and Compliance Manager at Operators Unlimited manages both internal and external safety and compliance responsibilities. He develops solutions for customer’s permitting and compliance issues. He also offers customer permit renewal guidance and creates, reviews and submits compliance documentation on behalf of our customers. Alan’s goal is to provide customers peace of mind regarding permitting, reporting and compliance issues. Alan and the entire Operators Unlimited team work diligently to ensure compliance documents are submitted accurately and on time to avoid unnecessary issues or fees.
